TEACHER PROFESIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAYS

Food and Fibre Education SA invites rural, regional or metropolitan teachers to attend a two day professional development workshop and industry tour to discover the range of careers and opportunities in science, food and fibre and agricultural based industries. Covering horticulture, broad-acre agriculture, science and innovation, livestock, animal nutrition and food production, the professional development workshop offer an insight into the learning pathways required for a career in the industry, gives new ideas for teaching science and agricultural science in context, and gives new ideas for real world learning in the classroom. The workshop will build your networks with science and industry and provide you with new contacts for student work placements.
Careers in agriculture workshop with presentations from major universities and training providers including:
- The University of Adelaide
- Regional Skills Training
Site visits to:
- Lenswood Apples
- Waite Campus
- Udder Delights
- Pasture Genetics
- Roseworthy Campus
- Coopers Brewery
- Agricultural Machinery Research and Design Centre (AMRDC)
WHO: Rural or metro based:
- Based teachers of science, nutrition, biology, chemistry, geography, PLP and agriculture
- School based career counsellors or VET coordinators
$200 per person with limited places available, register NOW with places limited to the first 20 registrations. Cost includes catering, transport and a resource gift bag.
