More than Gumboots & Tractors - A careers event for South Australian teacher and careers advisers
The grains industry invites teachers and career advisers to discover the science of food production.
SAGIT is pleased to invite teachers and career guidance officers to a professional development workshop which will explore the careers available in South Australia’s grains and wider agricultural industry.
This free full-day event, including networking dinner, will take you on a tour through a range of South Australian research centres and industry site to see plant breeding, cereal chemistry, ag technology and a range of other grains careers in action. University and training providers will present on study pathways, prerequisites, scholarships and study opportunities. They will also share tips for guiding students on an exciting agricultural career pathways.
ABOUT THE DAY:
The event will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018.
It is a full day from 8:30am to 9:00pm, commencing at Adelaide Showgrounds, Wayville, and involves:
- Tours of grains industry and research facilities
- Speakers from and within the various sectors on the grains industry including science, research technology and
- Industry networking hour and presentation of participation certificates and gift

COST: This event is free for teachers and careers advisers. All meals, tour travel and a comprehensive showbag with education and careers resources will be provided.
DATE: Thursday, December 6, 2018
TIME: 8:30am to 9:00pm
LOCATION: Meet and conclude at the Royal Adelaide Showground (meet at the Rose Terrace carpark, Wayville SA.)
- Full day program (8.30am to 5:30pm)
- Interactive dinner with local produce (6:00pm for a 6:30pm start to 9:00pm)
- Catering, transport between sites and materials/resources.
Event programs will be distributed to registered attendees. Limited to the first 25 registrations from South Australia. Maximum of two registrations per school unless arranged with organisers prior.
