Growing SA

OBJECTIVE

Create a flagship annual conference for two of the largest commodity groups of SA’s revised advocacy structure – Grain Producers SA and Livestock SA – and use it as an opportunity to promote all the great things about agriculture in South Australia.
ACTION

The first GROWING SA conference was held in 2017 – and came together in just 12 weeks with 275 delegates. AgC organised everything from the conference name, branding and pitch to the program, logistics and registration, and exhibition space. We also rolled out the communication strategy and created the website. AgC has since been event managers for 2018 and 2019 and is working on 2021.
RESULT

Each conference has been a huge success – with 230-275 delegates and a host of sponsors and exhibitors. The average overall event score from delegates averages between 8 and 9 out of 10 every year and organisation of the day at 9/10. The event provides an important forum for policy discussion between commodities as well as networking for producers, industry service providers and policy decision-makers. It also is a platform for putting topical rural issues in front of an urban audience by engaging with metropolitan media.
